Just Before Rain

I can always tell when it’s about to rain,
even before I hear the first drop.

With the windows cracked
and the ground still dry,
the sky sits there
with nothing to say.

Out of nowhere,
I can smell it.

The dust is restless.

I like to think
the dust remembers.
